Schwitzer Gallery: Take a Big Bite by Kenton Pratt
"Take a Big Bite" is a chance for artists to celebrate their favorite foods and how sharing a meal brings community together. Glass fruit that never rots brightens up the kitchen at any season. Drawings and paintings of green garden beds bring fresh produce into the kitchen and home. Favorite recipes are transformed by hungry printmakers. Handmade pottery adds an additional personal touch to a home-cooked meal. Giant milkshakes and hamburger sculptures are whimsical and joyful. Photographs of smiling chefs at work reminds us that cooking is a labor of love. In a world full of processed packaged food, "Take a Big Bite" is a chance to remember that there is food worth chewing and a table worth setting.
