Artists + Galleries
The FACTORY ARTS DISTRICT is home to Indianapolis’ largest artist community. With more than 100 artists’ work to explore, multiple galleries and ample free parking, the Factory Arts District is one of Indy’s BEST First Friday destinations.
What is First Friday?
On the first Friday of each month, galleries, studios, and culturally-oriented businesses celebrate the arts across Indianapolis. At the Factory Arts District, this is the night that our individual studio artists open their doors to the public and our large galleries debut work of local or national artists. Most of the art is available for purchase, but buying is not required to enjoy the event. An open studio door is an invitation to come in, so don’t be shy!
Don’t know anything about art? No problem! First Friday isn’t just for art nerds. Visitors can explore wood and metal shops, enjoy our multiple food and beverage options, experience live music or dance, and so much more. Our event is FREE and open to all ages (with the exception of ATF regulated establishments).
Our First Friday Art Walk is held on the first Friday of every month from 6-9pm.
STUDIO/GALLERY LOCATIONS
Studios and galleries are located in the central section of Factory Arts North, with free parking in our four acre lot directly across the street. Studios can be accessed using our two primary entrances on Brookside Avenue, then follow the “ART” signs- and the crowds!- throughout the building to studio and gallery spaces.
PET POLICY
Many of our studios and galleries are small spaces with fragile items. Only service animals are permitted in studio and gallery areas.
