About

The Factory Arts District, formerly the Circle City Industrial Complex (CCIC) is a unique arts and entertainment destination housed in the sprawling former Schwitzer Corporation factory on Indy’s near eastside.

While other destinations are cosplaying industrial chic, the Factory Arts District is the real deal: a former automotive factory that’s remained true to its entrepreneurial, boundary-pushing roots. Housed on a whopping 16 acres, the Factory Arts District is comprised of two distinct facilities - Factory Arts North and Factory Arts South - as well as two free parking lots.

Factory Arts North

1125 Brookside Ave, Indianapolis

Factory Arts North is the scrappy, bohemian, beating heart of the district: a place where affordable spaces and a can-do spirit have attracted a diverse mix of entrepreneurs, makers, and more. This former factory houses office, warehouse, fabrication, and retail space—plus studios for 125 artists, making Factory Arts North the largest community of working artists in Indianapolis.

While most of the FA North tenants are available limited hours or by appointment only, there are still great places to explore throughout the week, such as Centerpoint Brewing, the Fowling Warehouse, 8th Day Distillery, and others. And, of course, don’t miss our monthly First Friday art walk to explore our many studios and galleries.

Factory Arts South

1011 Massachusetts Ave, Indianapolis

COMING SOON! Factory Arts South is a totally renovated industrial space offering restaurants, unique retailers, event and office space, and more. Explore local businesses along the Production Line- an indoor walking path connecting directly to the Pogue’s Run Trail. Grab a drink or a bite to eat, explore local retailers, check out a pilates class, or find a new ‘do… Factory Arts South is a great place for connecting with old friends and making new ones.

FA South is proof of what you can do with an industrial space when you throw out the assumptions of what it should be. It’s a place created to captivate and connect, to vibe with the distinctive beat of life in Indy.
